Bio & Background

Since 2026, Malontema Katchali has been a research associate and Ph.D. candidate in the Machine Learning Group under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sophie Fellenz at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, Germany. He holds a Master's degree in Computational Mathematics from Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation under the African Union Commission scholarship program, and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from University of Kara. During his Master's studies, he worked as a research assistant in mathematical modeling and data management at icipe.

Research interests

Malontema Katchali is interested in Artificial Intelligence, with a specific focus on Diffusion Models, Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs), and spatio-temporal data analysis.
