Bio

Since 2019, Naghmeh Ghanooni has been a PhD candidate in the Machine Learning Group at TU Kaiserslautern, supervised by Prof. Dr. Marius Kloft. She holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from TU Kaiserslautern. During her master's studies, she conducted research in the Computer Vision department at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and completed a research internship at the University of Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. She also holds two Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science—one from the Baha'i Institute for Higher Education (BIHE) in Iran and another from SUNY Empire State College, a center for distance learning based in New York, USA.

Research interests

Naghmeh Ghanooni's research focuses on self-supervised representation learning, with a particular emphasis on contrastive learning and the impact of spurious correlations on model generalization. She is especially interested in the generalization bounds of contrastive methods and how theoretical insights can guide the design of more robust and reliable algorithms.
