Dr. Puyu Wang

Bio
Since Feb 2025, Puyu Wang has been an Alexander-von-Humboldt Research Fellow at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, working with Marius Kloft. Previously, she was a postdoctoral fellow at Hong Kong Baptist University (07/2023-02/2025) and the City University of Hong Kong (07/2021-07/2023), supervised by Ding-Xuan Zhou and Jun Fan. From 2017-2021, she was a PhD student in Statistics at Northwest University, China, headed by Hai Zhang. She was co-advised by Yiming Ying, whose machine learning group at SUNY Albany she visited from 11/2019 to 11/2020.
Research interests
Puyu Wang's research interests lie in the areas of statistical learning theory and machine learning, with emphasis on the following topics: deep learning theory, optimization and differential privacy.
